Mechanical Keyboard
Mechanical keyboard is notable for its clear key. In mechanical keyboard, switches are located under the keys which help to send the typing signals. There are many keys and have different signals. Every key has its switch which comes with a base, a stem, and a spring. The most common switches are black, blue, red, etc. Some keys can easy to press with sound or without sound while some other needs small force. Mostly mechanical keyboard gives exchangeable keycaps, which allow users to DIY their keyboard.
Membrane Keyboard
Membrane keyboards are more common than others. In the membrane keyboard, there is a membrane on a thin circuit layer. When you press the membrane the typing signal will be sent. The membrane keyboard is much portable, lightweight and cheaper.
Difference between Mechanical and Membrane Keyboard
In the mechanical keyboard, their keycaps will be changed. You can easily customize your keyboard just like you want; their keycaps can be changed according to your interest. There is no shortage of keycaps on the internet. The mechanical keyboard has a long-lasting life span. Many mechanical keyboards are tested for 25 to 60 million presses. This keyboard typing experience will improve time to time and they have high stability. Mechanical keyboards are expensive, weight and noisy. While in membrane keyboard they have the ability of “mushy” key feel with a short life. They are very famous because they are easy or cheap to produce. Their keys are difficult to clean. In this keyboard, you just press a single key at a moment. When the key doesn’t press you must again press the key no matter while you are typing or playing games etc, and sometimes the keys got stuck when you press the key harder. This is one of the major disadvantages of this keyboard.
